I recently read an article that demonstrates some of the changes going on in the world of work. It said that we’re seeing more and more people becoming entrepreneurs because the time when most people have a JOB will become the exception rather than the rule.

We’ve already seen this phenomenon become reality, certainly since the recession of 2008. Millions of good jobs disappeared, never to return again. Unfortunately there are many people today who are still waiting for their job to come back, and are not prepared to live in a new economy. Others stopped waiting and hoping and have started their own businesses.

With the new health care act … it’s difficult to predict how the major employers will deal with the additional costs they’ll be incurring … but my hunch is that we’ll see more and more companies hire part time employees. At the same time … we’re seeing the pay for the majority of the available jobs all at the minimum wage level or barely above it.

If you are an entrepreneur, this is actually good news. If you aren’t one … it’s time you consider learning how to become one … because for most people who want to not only survive, but thrive … entrepreneurship is all about solving problems for people … and there are lots of problems to be solved today.

I teach entrepreneurship and business every Tuesday morning at my “Tuesday mornings with Jeff” class … and I can tell you first hand … ANYONE can learn it. If you’d ever like to join me … let me know and I’ll send you the information. It’s 90 minutes and all it costs you is your time.
